- What is Savage Worlds?
Savage Worlds (SW) is a generic roleplaying system produced by Pinnacle Entertainment Group that features a set of core rules that can be used for just about any tabletop game setting. Pinnacle produces a large number of settings over a variety of genres themselves, but also lends out the SW license to companies to use as a rule set for their settings. The motto of Savage Worlds is “Fun, Fast, and Furious” and that’s what our games will deliver!
- What about East Texas University?
ETU was developed by the folks at 12 to Midnight as part of their Pinebox, TX modern horror setting. While the setting originally focused mainly on the town of Pinebox, 12toM and Pinnacle developed a full blown setting book focusing entirely on the (fictional) university. The ETU setting adds lots of great new features to the SW core rules to try to bring the college experience to life, such as an Academics skill, party generators and special edges/hindrances. There are others, but you’ll have to come join us in a game to find out what they are!
- I’ve never played a tabletop game/role-playing game before. Am I still going to be welcome?
Yes, we’d love to have you! All of our Game Masters (GMs) are glad to teach new players the rules. One of the great things about the Savage Worlds systems is that it’s generally very easy to learn the basics. All Class of 2019 games will have pre-made characters available to play and the GM can explain the character sheet to you so you can join in our fun.
- Can I make my own character to bring?
Yes, in fact, we encourage it. Each game in the story arc will include information in the description about the appropriate point level to create your own character. You can also email ETUclassof2019@gmail.com with any questions on how to build your character. One of our goals is to try to have as many repeat players as possible, and to have each of them level up their character throughout the campaign.
- I can’t make it to Colorado. When can I get a chance to play?
We are still working on developing the full campaign and looking for a way to make it widely available once developed. We’re not sure exactly what form that will take yet, but we’ll update you as things progress.
- I want to get involved. How can I help?
Email us at ETUclassof2019@gmail.com with comments, questions or suggestions, or to volunteer to help out.
